The Fortress Resorts PLC is engaged in the business of hoteliering. The Company has invested in its wholly owned subsidiary, La Forteresse (Private) Limited, which carries on the business of hoteliering. The Company changed its name from Ruhunu Hotels and Travels Limited to The Fortres Resorts PLC on 10 of February 2004.

The Company includes 24-hour reception hosts; luxury car service; Tuk tuk service; airport transfers; butler service; babysitters on request; 24-hour in-room dining; poolside service; wedding hosts; Wi-Fi Internet access; IDD telephone services; laundry, valet services, and foreign currency exchange. The Company offers verdant gardens and water features, a spa featuring Ayurvedic treatments, a freeflow swimming pool, wine cellar, restaurants, boutiques and exquisitely appointed rooms, lofts and residences. The Spa offers an array of signature treatments, yoga and meditation along with the ancient South Asian healing art of Ayurveda.
